Hanyang University Trainees Visit Yongin ATC! (Part 1)

"So this is how autonomous sensors and computers are actually integrated into a car!"
This was the first impression shared by the undergraduate trainees who toured the ACEWORKS Autonomous Driving Technology Center (ATC) located near the Yongin Natural Recreation Forest in Gyeonggi Province on the 14th of last month. Despite their youthful appearance and being bundled up in thick coats due to the chilly weather hovering around minus 10 degrees Celsius, they showed the utmost seriousness as they explored every corner of the ATC.
A total of four trainees visited the ACEWORKS ATC that day, all of whom are majoring in future automotive engineering at Hanyang University. The Yongin ATC handles everything from A to Z for autonomous vehicles—from modification to testing all in one place—making it, in essence, the very heart of this "autonomous driving technology cluster."
Stepping out of their campus lecture halls and laboratories, the trainees gasped in admiration as they looked around actual vehicles undergoing modifications to be equipped with autonomous driving systems. "Seeing a conventional internal combustion engine vehicle transform into an autonomous car with my own eyes gives me a completely different feeling."
This was the unanimous sentiment among the trainees while listening to an explanation from Ju-il Kim, Head of the PBV Part. (To be continued)
