Vice President Kang-yoon Lee Highlights the Importance of University-Industry Partnership in Future Mobility

ACEWORKS Vice President Kang-yoon Lee (Head of Strategic Planning) delivered a guest lecture at Kookmin University's College of Automotive Mobility on the 15th, making a strong case for deeper industry-academic collaboration in the future mobility field.

The lecture was held at the university's Automotive Engineering Building in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, and drew an audience of around 60 — including undergraduate and master's students as well as faculty from the College of Automotive Mobility.

Over the course of an hour, VP Lee walked attendees through his talk titled "Mobility Control: Taming Complexity." He painted a clear-eyed picture of the increasingly intricate software development landscape that the SDV (Software-Defined Vehicle) era is ushering in, and made the case for why systems engineering thinking and an MBD (Model-Based Design) development and verification process are essential tools for navigating it.

A recurring theme throughout the lecture was the value of industry-academia partnership. "What the field really demands," Lee said, "is an engineering mindset — the ability to look at a complex system, understand it structurally, and find ways to simplify it. That perspective only comes from experience on the ground."

ACEWORKS has been steadily broadening its engagement beyond industry — building connections with academic and research communities alongside its work in EVs, autonomous driving, and SDVs. The company plans to keep sharing practical, field-tested knowledge through industry-academic initiatives, contributing to the growth of the broader future mobility ecosystem.
