Sunwoo Myung-ho's advisory emphasized, "The core equipment of the future battlefield is unmanned autonomous driving."

"UGVs (Unmanned Ground Vehicles), which can be operated by unmanned boarding, remote control or autonomous driving, will be key strategic equipment for the future battlefield."
This is part of what Sunwoo Myung-ho, advisor to ACEWORKS, presented at the Marine Corps Science and Technology Research Conference hosted by the Marine Corps Command on the 29th of last month. At the research meeting held at Seoul National University's Siheung Campus, heated discussions were held for the development of the Marine Corps' science and technology field, including how to operate a combined combat system.
Sunwoo Myung-ho, advisor, said, "The core weapon of the future battlefield will be unmanned autonomous driving," paying particular attention to UGV. He said, "Since UGV can minimize human damage and perform high-level tasks efficiently without exposing people to danger, major military powers around the world are developing various UGVs to gain the upper hand of future battlefields."
Above all, it was revealed that UGV can be effectively used in special tactical operations only by the Marines, such as landing operations, support and distribution, and protection of troops in dangerous areas.
In addition to Sun Woo-ho, experts from industry, academia, and research institutes presented and collected opinions on defense R&D tasks jointly planned with the Marine Corps to implement future landing operations such as △ development of the body structure technology of the landing unmanned system △ planning research on the Marine Corps weapons system △ intelligent stealth camouflage technology.
The Marine Corps is reportedly planning to establish a future war strategy by combining the paradigm opinions of future landing operations discussed at the committee.
