Global Talent, Local Impact: US International Students Successfully Complete ACEWORKS Summer Internship

This summer, Aceworks welcomed two engineering students from the United States, Jean and Yoon, for an intensive six-week internship at its headquarters in Korea. More than just a technical program, the experience focused on close mentor-mentee collaboration that bridged global perspectives with local engineering expertise.

Jean contributed directly to projects involving model-based simulation and validation of automotive control systems. Rather than being an observer, she worked as an active contributor — an experience that, according to her, fundamentally changed how she views embedded software development. “This experience completely changed my perspective on embedded software development. I was treated as a contributor, not just an observer, and was able to engage in deep learning within a real industry environment,” she said.

Her mentor at Aceworks shared that working with such a capable intern was initially a bit daunting, but ultimately, her performance exceeded expectations and brought positive energy to the team.

Yoon reflected on his own experience, saying, “Although this was my first experience in a professional environment, everyone at Aceworks treated me with kindness and made me feel at ease. I’m thankful for the opportunity and feel that I’ve grown a lot during this internship.” His mentor praised his ability to learn quickly, adapt to working with Python and ROS, and deliver strong results by the end of his project.

Through this internship, Aceworks reaffirmed the value of global collaboration in driving technological innovation. As the mobility industry continues to evolve, the company remains committed to growing not only through advanced engineering—but also through people.
